- 2008 (sophomore): NEC Pitcher of the Week (3/24)
following consecutive shutouts vs. Lafayette 11-0 (3/21) and Siena 4-0
(3/22)…Finished the season with a 9-9 overall record on the mound…Pitched in
27 games with 21 starts…Recorded a 3.54 ERA…Led the team in shutouts (4);
Siena (3/22), SFPA (4/6), Robert Morris (4/7) and Sacred Heart (4/20) |

started in all 43 games...she carried a .257 batting average and led
the team with a .364 on base percentage...Recorded two home
runs...the first against Providence College (3/4) and the other
against Youngstown State (3/10) during Brown's 6-3 victory |

Motzny - Humboldt State U - Started all of the team’s 75 games ... Was
third on the team with 17 doubles and 10 stolen bases ... Fourth on the team
with 29 runs and 62 hits ... Recorded a .266 batting average ... Hit her two
home runs of the season during the West Region tournament, her second
helping the Jacks defeat Western Oregon 9-0 in the championship game ...
Named to the NCAA DII championship all-tournament team ... Earned a spot on
the CCAA All-Academic team ... |

The game of fast pitch softball has
become considerably more competitive over the past 10-15 years. Players,
parents, and coaches who are serious about the game are all involved in
“competitive” leagues vs. “participation” leagues. But in the quest to
become the best, it’s so easy to lose sight of the ultimate reason for being
involved with the sport. It’s easy to fall into a path that actually takes
you AWAY from greatness instead of toward it.
