Orem, UT- Fifteen softball student athletes, including eight repeat honorees, make up the 2007 Division I Independent Softball All-Academic Team.
North Dakota State leads the list with five selections on the All-Academic team. South Dakota State had four selections, Utah Valley State three and UC Davis, Longwood and IPFW rounded out the team with one student-athlete.
Repeat selections from North Dakota State are Erin Troup, Kelly Vivant and Grete Peterson while Jackie Roberts and Sara Roskelley are repeat selections from Utah Valley State. Kim Westendorf from South Dakota State was also named to last years All-Academic team.
The cumulative GPA among the 15 student-athletes was 3.52.
The Division I Independent Softball All-Academic Team was selected by sports information directors at member institutions. Nominations were accepted for student-athletes who have maintained at least a 3.2 GPA cumulative grade-point average and are at least a sophomore in athletic standing and are a starter or a key reserve.
